It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Moore, Lewis, Caranda, Toles, Johnson, Richardson, and Dorley, families announce the home-going of the Patriarch of the Moore family, their beloved father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and cousin, Deacon John E. Moore. Deacon Moore who was affectionately called JE by some of his children, Teacher Moore by his former students, and Business Man, Papay Moore, Independent Man by his friends, departed this life on Saturday morning, December 23, 2023.

He is survived by his Children: Anthony Moore (Etta), Abe Moore (Sophia), Walter Moore (Comfort), Joseph Moore (Fenah), Martha Moore, Johnetta Moore, Beatrice Dorley, Thumbelina Biah (Nathan), Henrietta Jett, Alfred Yarweh, Emmanuel Moore (Cecelia), Comfort Yengbeh (Chris), Mai Douglas (Alexander), J. Gus Moore (Cerue), grandchildren, great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Deacon Moore was predeceased in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Deaconess Bendu Etta Ricks Moore, their son, John Edward Moore, Jr. as well as his loving parents, John Thomas Moore and Amanda Toles Moore and all of his siblings. Now that you are sleeping peacefully from all the pain and agony, may your soul rest in perpetual peace. You will be greatly missed.
